I've been trying to stay out of this with all of the insane right vs. left mentality that has been flowing from this section. It's ridiculous to think that we're all in teh same country and trying to make ita better place when all we can seem to do is throw insults across the aisle. THIS is what is wrong with politics in America today: the extreme bickering about who did what instead of how to fix things.

Regardless, Sickofit-

1. Oh if we pass the stimulus unemployment won’t go above 8% we are what 10% or more
– Stimulus has undeniably helped keep things worse than it could have been on an economy-wide scale. Then again, I assume if he had done nothing, the right would be bashing him for that. Have you also failed to notice jobless claims dropping recently?
2. You can keep your health care, uh no, sorry employer cannot afford it with the new health care regulation regulations
– There is a lot more to this than you seem to think. Providers are striking back by raising rates. When their heavier clients start ditching them because of this, they will come around. It may take a year, but it will instigate a pricing war on benefits. I don't know who you work for and what insurance they provide, but my rates aren't budging at all. And I live in Illinois.
3. Your health care costs go up, gee husbands is going up $200 more per month, already pays $350.00
– Again, I find this extremely hard to believe. One of you or both HAVE to have some sort of pre-existing condition or high use of benefits, or have all of your family on the same insurance (and it must be a big family). I pay less than $100 a month for me. I would pay easily under $200 if I added a family member.
4. Our economy has come back from the brink – Sure, yeah let’s see housing market is going back down, lending has stopped, consumers are not spending, etc etc.
– Where are you getting this? Lending has slowed, but not stopped. They are talking about a housing SHORTAGE, not surplus, now. The economy is swiinging up and it is evidenced by numbers.
5. Your taxes won’t go up if you make less than 250,000, no wait, 225,000, no that’s not right 200,000, oh forget it lets just raise them across the board. P.S. I pay more now than I did under Bush by more than $2000 a year, just though I would let you know that.
– Another practical impossibility. Especially with the stimulus that CUT taxes for individuals and couples. I pay less now than previous out of every paycheck.
6. I won’t rest until the hole is plugged, unless you count playing golf, going on vacations every two weeks, having parties for the Hollywood types, musicians, and sports players to the White House.
– Shall we talk about Bush and camp david? Didn't think so.
7. I feel your pain, yeah so does my dog that is why he gets his own private jet to take him to our vacation spot in Maine on you the tax payer dollar.
– I'd LOVE to know where you got info that the Obama -dog- was flown around solo on a jet- without being on the plan to accompany the family.

Please. Inform me. This is getting silly.

I'm not saying the man is perfect, but he's the president. If you didn't complain about some of Bush's policies that have been just as bad if not worse (oh, say, invading Iraq on shoddy intel or the Patriot Act, Guantanamo, etc), then you have no right to dis the current president. I don't agree with all of Barack's ideas and policies (I disliek the health care reform, for one, but don't make stuff up to make a point), or things of the like, but he is the president. I'm sure even Bush thought what he was doing was for the best at the time.

If you weren’t watching the Phillies game last night like you should’ve been, you missed out on perhaps one of the greatest foul ball catches in the history of foul ball catches.

At the start of the Fightins 2-run fifth inning last night, Carlos Ruiz led off against D-back’s ace Dan Haren and fouled a 1-1 pitch back into the stands.  An attentive Arizona fan was in a great position to snag the ball, and threw up his left arm and picked it out of the air.

Now, I know what you’re thinking — what’s so impressive about that, meech?

Fair enough.

But what if I told you he made the catch while HOLDING A FRICKIN LITTLE KID IN HIS RIGHT HAND?

I got your attention now, don’t I, you cynical prick?

Without exaggeration, his catch was a more impressive defensive play than anything the Arizona Diamondbacks have done over the past two games.  So much so, that a D-backs announcer approached Shane (that’s the guy’s name, Shane.  He coaches baseball for Mesquite High in Gilbert, AZ) and offered him a mock contract.  Actually, if you wanna get technical, I think the kid not dropping that 64 oz. bucket of soda with those tiny paws of his was more impressive than anything the Diamondbacks have done the past two days.

Good on ya, Shane.
